Benefits of Drinking Ajwain or Carom Seeds Tea

Drinking tea in the morning has been a cherished tradition in Indian households for decades. Many begin their day with a cup of tea, be it milk tea, lemon tea, black tea or green tea. However, overconsumption of tea may be harmful for health.

But adding a small amount of carom seeds (ajwain), commonly used in Indian cooking, can significantly enhance the health benefits of tea.

In conversation with Local18, Yachana Sharma, a dietician at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla, stated that carom seeds are highly beneficial. Their consumption can boost immunity and alleviate issues related to gastritis.

Those prone to gas problems may benefit from carom seed tea or by incorporating carom seeds into their diet in other ways. Additionally, consumption pf carom seeds may help prevent various diseases.

Ways To Consume Carom Seeds

Dietician Yachana Sharma noted that there are numerous ways to consume carom seeds, each offering different health benefits. These include carom tea, eating raw carom seeds, consuming roasted carom seeds, mixing them with jaggery, or drinking water after soaking the seeds.

In many Indian households, roasted carom seeds are traditionally consumed to relieve upset stomachs or colds.
