Saffron, on the other hand, is a mood enhancer, helping devotees feel calmer and more positive after a long day of fasting. Adding to this, nutritionist Aggarwal explains, “Kesar (saffron) is a warm food that positively impacts metabolism. It’s often consumed in herbal teas or flavored milk and is known for its ability to manage sugar cravings, especially during fasting periods. Similarly, dates are a fantastic replacement for refined sugar, thanks to their natural sweetness and ease of digestion. They are packed with iron, fiber, and antioxidants, which support cardiovascular health and aid digestion.”
