Karva Chauth, one of the auspicious festivals for married couples will be observed on October 20. On this day, married women keep a waterless fast for the long life of their husbands. They complete their fast after worshipping the moon in the evening. Besides the fast, Hindu couples must follow certain rituals during Karva Chauth. The primary gods to worship during this fast are Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Kartikeya, Ganesh ji, and Chauth Mata, a manifestation of Goddess Parvati. Karva is used to offer water to the moon. It is the earthen pot in which water is kept. Bhopal resident astrologer and Vastu consultant Pandit Hitendra Kumar Sharma signifies the importance of Karva and lists the significance of different metal karvas:
Brass karva
Brass metal is considered holy. Its utensils can be used in any kind of worship. The water kept in brass utensils is pure. When you use a brass karva to offer water to the moon, its water absorbs the rays of the moon. When you consume this water, it increases the lifespan of your husband.
Silver Karva
This metal is considered a symbol of peace and prosperity. Silver is also called the metal of the moon, which helps keep the mind calm. In such a situation, when you keep water in a silver karva, it becomes even more pure and cool. At the same time, when the moon’s rays fall on it, it increases your good fortune.
Copper Karva
You must have seen copper lota, thali and other utensils in your house during worship because this metal is considered a symbol of purity and auspiciousness. Therefore, when you use a copper karva in the fast worship of Karva Chauth, it is considered auspicious. It is said that copper karva brings happiness in your married life.
According to astrological calculations, many rare coincidences are being formed on the day of the Karva Chauth fast this year, whose effect will be seen on the people of 12 zodiac signs. Some will have positive effects, while others impart negative effects.
