It is regarded as a sign of the arrival of Mahalakshmi, a symbol of happiness, prosperity and an increase in wealth in the house.
From a religious point of view, it is also believed that seeing a lizard on the night of Diwali ensures there is no shortage of wealth in the house throughout the year. One gets relief from the financial problems of life, happiness and prosperity in life. Therefore, spotting a lizard on the occasion of Diwali should be considered auspicious.
