Diwali 2024: Rituals For Prosperity In Business And Financial Success

Diwali, often called the “Festival of Lights,” holds deep significance in Hinduism. On this special day, homes and businesses are illuminated with lamps, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness. The ritual of Lakshmi Puja, where Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped, is a central part of the celebration. Offering prayers to them is believed to bring prosperity, happiness, and relief from financial challenges, which is why businessmen especially seek the blessings of Lakshmi for financial success.

For those experiencing a slowdown in their businesses, performing specific remedies during Diwali is thought to enhance the possibility of financial gains. Traditionally, Diwali is observed on Amavasya, the new moon day. This year Amavasya begins on October 31 at 2:40 PM, making that day the appropriate time for Diwali celebrations, rather than November 1.

The most auspicious time for worship on October 31 is from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Since Amavasya will not extend into the evening of November 1, Diwali festivities will be observed on October 31.

If you own a business and financial gains are eluding you, do the following on the occasion of Diwali.

Light 11 Ghee Lamps: After worshipping Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, light 11 ghee lamps near the idols. This act is believed to attract the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, positively influencing your business and overall prosperity.

Install Gomti Chakra at the Entrance: If your business is struggling, worship a Gomti Chakra (a small sacred shell) during Lakshmi Puja. After the ritual, tie the Gomti Chakra in a red cloth and hang it at the entrance of your shop. This practice is thought to stimulate business growth and bring monetary gains.

Place a Broom on the Right Side of Goddess Lakshmi: During Lakshmi and Ganesha Puja at your shop, place a broom on the right side of the deity’s idols. Worship the broom along with the gods. This symbolises the removal of obstacles, helping to revive and boost any stalled business operations.

These traditional remedies, rooted in faith and symbolism, are believed to invite fortune and success during the Diwali festival.
