Kicking off the festive season in true-blue Bollywood style, ace couturier Manish Malhotra hosted a Diwali bash for his friends from the film and fashion industry. Every celebrity guest was dressed in opulent Manish Malhotra couture adding festive fervour to the celebration.
The star of the show were the varied sarees draped on the stunning leading ladies of the Hindi film industry. From holographic, shimmery statement drapes to bespoke traditional weaves, each saree celebrated Manish’s opulent design language.
From the evergreen Rekha, the newly-engaged Sobhita Dhulipala, the ethereal Shraddha Kapoor, the sensational Shilpa Shetty Kundra, haute stepper Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon to the young and the restless Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Khushi Kapoor, Alizeh the Bollywood divas had their Manish Malhotra saree moment at the Diwali bash.
Here’s a look at who made a statement in the six-yards of sheer elegance at Manish Malhotra’s Diwali bash:
Janhvi Kapoor knows how to ace a Manish Malhotra ensemble and she did just that in a holographic pre-draped saree. A sensational look for the Devara-star, Janhvi paired the drape with a matching contemporary-styled blouse. Bringing Manish Malhotra’s sequin game to the party was actor Alizeh. The dual tone silver-rose gold sequin saree paired with a sequin bustier blouse added a sparkling statement to her Diwali party look.
Not just the drape, the pallu also has main character energy in Manish Malhotra creations. Kiara Advani, who is known to love the colour gold, adorned a stunning embellished saree featuring a unique pallu. Instead of fabric, the pallu was made of embellishments stringed together. Thus adding a sparkle to Kiara’s festivities indeed. She paired the shimmery saree with a velvet cropped corset blouse. Another unique saree pallu spotted at the event was styled on Khushi Kapoor. The cut-out pallu featuring circles in black added drama to the celestial drape adorned by Khushi.
A sheer saree is one of the favourites among Bollywood stars and Ananya Panday, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Sharvari nailed the look. While Ananya opted for a demure, ivory sheer saree, Sharvari chose to keep it black and sassy. Shilpa made it dramatic with the sheer bodice featuring placement embroidery detailing and the mermaid style saree designed in a surreal shade of teal.
Rekha’s timeless kanjeevaram was met with Manish Malhotra’s love for reviving tradition through his opulent sarees. Disha Patani gave her own unique twist the tissue saree and Shraddha opted for a contemporary blouse with her traditional tissue saree. Sobhita’s drape looked straight out of a painting and celebrated her bridal glow to the T.
Kriti Sanon and Tamannaah Bhatia upped their style game in vibrant hues of yellow and red. The intricate embroidered saree with sparkling detailing enhanced the drape with elan. While Kriti opted for a pearl embellished blouse with her yellow saree, Tamannaah paired her fiery red embellished saree with a maroon velvet V-neck blouse.
