Ronan, Kneecap & more among stars at British Indie Film Awards

Irish stars Saoirse Ronan, Michael Fassbender, Kneecap, Aisling Bea and Jessie Buckley were among the stars walking the red carpet at the British Independent Film Awards, which took place last night in London's Roundhouse.

Now in its 27th year, the annual ceremony celebrates the best talent in British independent films, highlighting filmmakers who are pushing the boundaries of storytelling in film.

Saoirse Ronan walked the red carpet at the British Independent Film Awards last night, wearing a custom made deep navy blue gown by Erdem for the occasion. Styled by Danielle Goldberg, the sophisticated dress featured a high neckline and textured finish, with a sheer cape flowing from the neck and over one shoulder.

She paired it with minimal makeup and a slicked back hairstyle.

The actress, who was nominated for Best Lead Performance for her role in The Outrun, walked the red carpet with her husband, fellow actor Jack Lowden.

Michael Fassbender attended the awards with his wife, fellow actor Alicia Vikander, who wore a dazzling sequinned lime green gown by Louis Vuitton. Vikander was nominated for Best Lead Performance for her role in The Assessment.

Although not nominated, Fassbender had a role in Kneecap, the runaway success of the night.

The semi-autobiographical Irish-language film follows Naoise Ó Cairealláin (Móglaí Bap), Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh (Mo Chara) and JJ Ó Dochartaigh (DJ Próvaí) of the Belfast rap group of the same name, and won seven of the 14 awards it was nominated for on the night, including the top prize, Best British Independent Film.

Jessie Buckley also walked the red carpet, channelling her avant garde taste in fashion in a striking white ensemble, which featured a bustier front, draped sleeves and straight trousers.

Aisling Bea brought a hint of festive fashion to the event, stepping out in a vampy bright red velvet dress, which she paired with green heels.
