Google reveals the year's most searched recipes, terms and tech

Every year, Google compiles a heap of data and attempts to organise the world's information into a 'Year of Search' - a neat package of popular search terms, people, and topics that came up over the year.

Topping the most searched meanings list in 2024 is a word that is very mindful, very cutsey: "Demure". The word that went viral thanks to a TikTok by lifestyle and beauty influencer Jools Lebron.

'What is PMDD?' topped the ‘What is’ list and other trending questions asked by the Irish public were ‘What is cloud seeding?’ and ‘What is brat summer?’.
