Adare Manor has been named on Condé Nast Traveller's Gold List for 2025, making it the only Irish resort included on the prestigious list of exceptional hotels and resorts.
The publication is known for its annual lists of top hospitality spots around the world, but its Gold List shares the top picks from its editors. Resorts, hotels and cruises are chosen based not only on their luxury and amenities, but because the editors have "developed deeply emotional relationships", they write.
The 31st iteration shares a long list of incredible hotels and resorts from across the world, shining a spotlight on the five-star service and exceptional hospitality.
Having already been named as the Best Resort in Europe by the publication in October, Adare Manor once again made the cut, winning praise for its tasteful restoration work, outdoorsy activities and the Michelin-starred Oak Room restaurant.
"Few country escapes can beat this 19th-century neo-Gothic castle in Ireland's County Limerick", writes Noo Saro-Wiwa. "First built for the Second Earl of Dunraven on an 842-acre estate, it features stained-glass windows, gold-leaf ceilings, and towering fireplaces, all restored to their original glory. The signature suite’s classic-contemporary bedroom and bathroom overlook the boundless sprawl of gardens and the Ryder Cup golf course.
"Guests can lord it in horse-and-buggy rides, go on clay-shooting and archery sessions, take padel tennis classes, eat Michelin-star suppers at the Oak Room, and afterward descend to the Tack Room cellar-lounge to sample its rare Irish whiskey collection. Rural breaks have never felt so ennobling."
